! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.
The Labour Party conference is imminent and delegates are being security checked before they get their pass.
Who will be paying for these few thousand police checks and for the massive police presence at the conference? I’m guessing it won’t be the Labour Party.
The police op’ is going to cost over 4 million quid….
NuLabour are skint – so expect the taxpayer to get the bill – and also a few Greater Manchester plodders to receive gongs in the new years honours list…..
As it’s just down the road, i was thinking of trotting down with my home made poster to do a bit of complaining. – but as I would probably be secretly photographed, video’d and put on the ‘pain in the arse list’…..
I’m sure you’ve already guessed, Stuart, but for the benefit of the small proportion of your readers who haven’t, the entire bill will fall on the Council Tax payers of Greater Manchester, (incidentally, a non-existent administrative area, not a county)just as it did on those of us here in Lancashire (or that rump of it left behind after the Grocer had topped and tailed itin 1974)when both lots used to alternate in their use of the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, year in, year out.
Frankly, I won’t be shedding any tears at their absence. Long may it continue.
