! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.
Bank of England £20 notes are having the picture of Elgar replaced with a picture of the North British economist, Adam Smith.
Can anybody, under any possible circumstances, imagine an English person ever appearing on the back of a Royal Bank of Scotland, HBoS or Clydesdale bank note? Hell would freeze over first.
Absolutely not. I used to do a lot of work for Clydesdale Bank. Their official policy was to have Scots only people on their banknotes. The ONLY exception was to have a picture of Robert the Bruce, who of course was a Norman. They used to give out perspex bricks with the RtheB bank note fused inside…. somehow, amazingly, I was given one to photograph and sort of forgot to give it back. I still have it (for emergencies).
