So much for Christian charity

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

Mrs Sane had to take the dog to the vets this morning.  When he did his business on his morning walk it was full of blood which isn’t a particularly good sign so we called the emergency vet recommended by our normal vet.

It cost £109 for a consultation – triple the normal amount – because it’s Easter Sunday.  Plus £23 for a couple of injections and some rehydration powder.

I thought Easter was supposed to be a time for Christian charity?

I guess that all depends on whether your dog is a Christian. Have you considered the possibility that, in this age of religious freedom, he could be a Buddhist, a Hindu or a Muslim?

So you’d work for free today, if called in?

Ginge, he’s half French and half Scottish, chances are he’s a Catholic. He’s tried to hump the kids a few times.

Jem, I wouldn’t work for free, I’d expect time and a half because it’s a Sunday, maybe double time because it’s a religious holiday. I’d like triple time of course but I wouldn’t expect it.

Derek, he’s picked up a bit now. Hopefully it’s not just the injections the vet gave him giving him a temporary pick-me-up.

He’s doing well now thanks, he perked up last night and was chasing cats when I took him for a walk. Definitely getting back to his old self. Speaking of which, time to take him for a walk and get some sleep!
