The Spanish government have caused mayhem by stopping every vehicle crossing the Spanish/Gibraltarian border. About 10,000 vehicles were stopped, causing 6 hour traffic jams in the town.
In recent weeks Spanish police have entered Gibraltarian waters and shot at a jetskier, Spanish fishermen have entered Gibraltar waters to try and disrupt work on an artificial reef which will stop them illegally fishing the Bay of Gibraltar and Spanish fighter planes have “buzzed” the Rock.
The British government have complained and told the Spanish not to do it again which means bugger all because the same thing happens every time they do it and they take no notice. The Royal Navy need to take a nonsense approach to incursions into Gibraltarian waters and fire on any ship that illegally enters the Bay, be it police, military or civilian. And if the Spanish government wants to cause trouble at the border then let’s block it from the Gibraltar side too but selectively so it only inconveniences the Spanish. Gibraltar buys more from Spain than Spain buys from Gibraltar and Spain is broke whereas Gibraltar isn’t.
Spanish hypocrites. Take a look where Ceuta and Melilla are…

If Camerloon did not decimate our Armed Forces we could send a couple of destroyers and some Royal Marines to Gib and sort this out.
The Royal navy has to do it’s duty and defend our territory with force, I needs to fire upon any such incursions after following correct warning procedure. It’s also worth nothing that Spain could not afford Gibraltar, if it did get it all the business would leave and the EU would not be able to pick up the tab either.
France has an overseas territory – Saint Pierre and Miquelon – just 12 miles off the coast of Canada, yet the Canadians don’t try to bully the inhabitants, nor do they try silly, futile point scoring via the UN. Spain (and Argentina) take note.
If needs be we could give our backing for all the sepratist movements, which want their independance from the Spanish authorities. Gibralta is not a large area and was succeeded to “Great Britain” under a treaty for strategic purposes. The Spanish were the first empire builders after the Roman Empire, they should know you win some you lose some, why are they opening a can of worms with their previous world conduct? as people often say if you live in a glass house do not throw stones. Is it some ploy though to get the wonderful EU to come to the rescue and help change the sceptical opinion of that.
