New car

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

My trusty Vauxhall Zafira has finally gone to the great scrapyard in the sky. The MOT was up this month and it just needed too much work going to it – two new tyres, new clutch, new EGR valve, new brake pipes, new discs, new exhaust … and that’s just the things I knew about!

I’m now the proud owner of a Suzuki Wagon R+ VVT auto. It looks like Postman Pat’s van and it’s a bit of a grandad car but it’s surprisingly roomy, quite nippy for a 1.3 engine and it’s only done 30,000 miles in 9 years with a service every 6 months. It’s not the most exciting car I’ve ever had but I’m not quite ready for a mid-life crisis just yet.

I thought going from a manual to an auto was going to be difficult but I’ve only gone for the clutch a couple of times since I picked the car up on Friday.

Stupid Wagon R

With fewer than four months until the GE, I hope that English nationalists are gearing up to push hard for a Salmond – Miliband coalition.

We’re not going to be given a referendum on the EU by Grooovey Dave or anyone else and should I be proved wrong we’re not going to be allowed to win an ‘Out’ vote so voting Conservative is a total waste of time. Anything that results in a hung parliament, in the England seats, with a British government controlled from Holyrood will be very good for the cause of an English Parliament.

There’s a lot of trouble ahead but nothing else will wake the somnolent English voter and bring him to his senses, just before it is far too late.

Here’s to a McCoalition for a Britain of the nations and regions, and the start of independence for England.

Hey William, “a British government controlled from Holyrood”? It may as well be controlled from Hollywood for all the worth a British government has. Come on Terminator.
