Scots band attacked

! This post hasn't been updated in over a year. A lot can change in a year including my opinion and the amount of naughty words I use. There's a good chance that there's something in what's written below that someone will find objectionable. That's fine, if I tried to please everybody all of the time then I'd be a Lib Dem (remember them?) and I'm certainly not one of those. The point is, I'm not the kind of person to try and alter history in case I said something in the past that someone can use against me in the future but just remember that the person I was then isn't the person I am now nor the person I'll be in a year's time.

A Scottish childrens pipe band has been attacked by what the Sunday Sun newspaper described as a gang of “racist thugs”.

The band had stepped in at the last minute after an English band had dropped out of a fair but as they were doing their stuff, a gang marched alongside them singing anti-Scottish songs and the police had to be called in to offer protection.

The police are treating it as a racially-motivated crime.

This is inexcusable behaviour – they were just children.  It’s no co-incidence that this has followed more press coverage of the inequalities and discrimination faced by English people every day at the hands of this racist Scottish government.  It’s worth noting that during the 2006 World Cup, there were several occassions when English people – including a 7 year old child and a disabled man – were the victims of racist attacks in Scotland but the best the press could muster up was the phrase “anti-English”.  The Scotsman newspaper publishes more stories about anti-English racism in Scotland than the so-called “English press” but even it draws the line at referring to those brave Scottish freedom fighters who beat up English children as racists.

I just hope that this doesn’t scare off the national press from carrying further stories about anti-English discrimination for fear of stirring up more trouble, especially when Princess Tony has been making noises about more illiberal laws to restrict freedom of the press.

It probably didn’t report is as racism because linguistically it’s not racism…people use that word to scare folk, it’s xenophobia, lets get our facts straight for starters. We are (for the most part) all one race in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. Also, there was MUCH disgust and coverage in the Scottish press about English people being beaten up (and there was only a handful, which is a lot less than the number of Scottish people that have been attacked in England). Also, 2 of the attacks were (unreportedly of course) very provoked and not the innocent ‘just being attacked because I wore an English football top’ story that was claimed. What there wasn’t, 4 years ago when it happened, was any press whatsoever about my friend being beaten up in the north of England just for having a Scottish accent (he is actually English), and he was beaten to within an inch of his life. It didn’t make it into any English newspapers.

While we’re on the subject can I ask why people think it’s okay to drive about Scotland with a St George’s Cross flying from their car…if you think England is so great that you want to fly the flag then go to England, it’s just insulting to fly a different flag in a country. I have been in England many times and have never flown a Saltire in England and I wouldn’t…it’s insulting and stupid. I don’t understand this faux English flag patriotism thing anyway. We just get on with our lives being Scots we don’t feel the need to fly our flag!

Yes, more coverage in Scottish press than the British (aka English) press which is what I said.

There are a damn sight more Scots in England than there are Englishmen in Scotland.

There aren’t any English newspapers, just British newspapers.

Probably for the same reason as all the Scottish people who have Scotland flags and the rampant lion royal banner (which it is illegal to fly without permission from the Queen) on their cars in England.

Sort out your own land before attacking others.

Love to, just as soon as we get English politicians running England.

Don’t you mean it’s insulting to fly the English flag in scotland? Why? Oh you grown up scots can’t take seeing the English flag? When will you grow up?

“We just get on with our lives being Scots we don’t feel the need to fly our flag!”

Oh no it isn’t that way in scotland right? Ha! ha! For crying out loud, stop lying like a two year old. You idiots fly the flag of the team that the England football team is playing instead. All in your quest for attention!
Blimey, you lot go on about hating English folks, but in reality you’re like little kids who’ve been left home alone. It is all a game shouting your mouths off about hating England, Jimmy Hill and Margaret Thatcher. That is, until an Englishman sticks up for himself and retaliates, then it’s all crying wolf and screaming “discrimination”! I hate the victim mentality.

We will one day soon. I guarantee that an England without people like Blair, Brown, Reid and Darling running it is going to be a whole lot better run! Us English certainly won’t be starting wars like YOUR Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have done in Iraq!
