EU national anthem at football matches?

MEP’s will vote this week on proposals to enforce the flying of the EU rag and singing of the EU “national” anthem at European football championships.

It’s not clear whether the proposal is to have it playing instead of national anthems of the countries involved or whether it will be played in addition to the national anthems like they do in the cricket when England have Jerusalem played before the British national anthem.

I’m unsure what the reaction would be to the EU anthem being played at a football match involving England.  It’s a nice enough tune – Ode to Joy from Beethoven’s 9th – but we are the most eurosceptic country in the EU.  Either the song will be ignored because nobody recognises it or it will be greeted by boos and whistles.  I’m leaning toward the latter.

There’s also the question of what happens when a non-EU country’s team is in the finals.  Say, for instance, the final was between Norway and Switzerland (yes, it’s unlikely, but how many people put money on Greece in 2004?).  Neither of these countries are EU member states – would their fans be forced to watch some jumped up eurofederalists parade around the pitch waving that blue rag and listen to a piece of classical music that apparently represents the values of the EU (I’d have though Deutschland über alles was a more appropriate choice personally)?

I mute the telly when they play God Save the Queen before England matches, I’d turn the telly off rather than see the EU take over the event for its own propaganda purposes.  This is just a step too far – sport is the main expression of nationalism in Europe (in England, it’s the only one we’re still allowed by the Scottish Raj) so it’s easy to see why the eurofederalists are keen to take control of it.

I am not an EU citizen.

EU offices raided

The European Federation hasn’t signed off its own accounts for 8 years because they are fraudulent.

EU commissioners and other EU civil servants are protected from the law by immunity from prosecution, hence the widespread fraud and theft that runs throughout the entire corrupt organisation.

Police have now raided the offices of EU institutions in 3 different countries as part of an investigation into allegations of fraud and bribery over security contracts for the EU’s new federal embassies.

What was it the Berlin Declaration said?  We have united for the better?  Screw that, how can we trust this bunch of crooks with a single penny of our money?

The Berlin Declaration

Blair has signed the Berlin Declaration declaring the European Federation to be the best thing since sliced bread (assuming the EU hasn’t banned sliced bread yet), the reason for peace in Europe (don’t mention Yugoslavia, Georgia, Cyprus …) and the best thing that could ever happen to us ever.

The text of the declaration follows with my own comments (hover over the ‘s to see them) but it’s worth noting that the declaration will implement large portions of the rejected EU Constitution and calls for the EU to be put on a “new common basis” before the European Elections in 2009 – ie. before we have a chance to send some more eurosceptic MEP’s to put a stop to it.

For centuries Europe has been an idea, holding out hope of peace and understanding Yes, Napolean and Hitler had some very firm plans on a political European Union . That hope has been fulfilled. European unification has made peace and prosperity possible. It has brought about a sense of community and overcome differences. Each Member State has helped to unite Europe and to strengthen democracy and the rule of law The actual decisions in the EU are made by the unelected commission. Thanks to the yearning for freedom of the peoples of Central and Eastern Europe the unnatural division of Europe is now consigned to the past Yet they still refer to Central and Eastern Europe so there's still a division?. European unification shows that we have learnt the painful lessons of a history marked by bloody conflict. Today we live together as was never possible before.

We, the citizens of the European Union, have united for the better No, it's been an unmitigated disaster for the UK.

I

In the European Union, we are turning our common ideals into reality: for us, the individual is paramount. His dignity is inviolable. His rights are inalienable The English Bill of Rights says that the EU can't make laws in my country - my rights are being violated. Men and women enjoy equal rights But Turkey is joining soon and women aren't equal to men there. We are striving for peace and freedom, for democracy and the rule of law, for mutual respect and shared responsibility, for prosperity and security, for tolerance and participation, for justice and solidarity That's why the EU can be divided into two parts - France & Germany and the rest of the EU.

We have a unique way of living and working together in the European Union. This is expressed through the democratic interaction of the Member States and the European institutions They missed the word . The European Union is founded on equal rights and mutually supportive co-operation The EU was founded - and still operates - as an exclusive club. This enables us to strike a fair balance between Member States’ interests English interests are mostly different to the rest of the continent.

We preserve in the European Union the identities and diverse traditions of its Member States What a crock of shit - a “Europe of Regions” doesn’t preserve national identities. We are enriched by open borders and a lively variety of languages, cultures and regions Illegal and economic migration has flooded England with unemployable foreigners. There are many goals which we cannot achieve on our own, but only in concert Like what?. Tasks are shared between the European Union, the Member States and their regions and local authorities England has no representation at the EU.

II

We are facing major challenges which do not stop at national borders And we can't even control our national borders any more. The European Union is our response to these challenges. Only together can we continue to preserve our ideal of European society in future for the good of all European Union citizens I'm not a European Union citizen and I don't belong to a European society, This European model combines economic success and social responsibility. The common market and the euro make us strong The Euro is a weak currency, even Slovenia qualifies for membership!. We can thus shape the increasing interdependence of the global economy and ever-growing competition on international markets according to our values. Europe’s wealth lies in the knowledge and ability of its people; that is the key to growth, employment and social cohesion.

We will fight terrorism and organised crime together How do terrorists get here in the first place? There's only one place they come from without being checked.. We stand up for liberties and civil rights also in the struggle against those who oppose them. Racism and xenophobia must never again be given any rein The British government is racist against English people yet the EU will do nothing about it.

We are committed to the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the world and to ensuring that people do not become victims of war, Terrorism and violence. The European Union wants to promote freedom and development in the world. We want to drive back poverty, hunger and disease. We want to continue to take a leading role in that fight. The EU is widely blamed for the continued poverty of much of the African continent through the Common Agricultural Policy

We intend jointly to lead the way in energy policy and climate protection and make our contribution to averting the global threat of climate change. THERE IS NO THREAT FROM CLIMATE CHANGE - GLOBAL WARMING ISN'T HAPPENING!

III

The European Union will continue to thrive both on openness and on the will of its Member States to consolidate the Union’s internal development. The European Union will continue to promote democracy, stability and prosperity beyond its borders. The EU can't manage democracy internally, let alone externally

With European unification a dream of earlier generations has become a reality We didn't agree to unification, we agreed to a common market. Our history reminds us that we must protect this for the good of future generations We must abolish it for the good of future generations. For that reason we must always renew the political shape of Europe in keeping with the times. That is why today, 50 years after the signing of the Treaties of Rome, we are united in our aim of placing the European Union on a renewed common basis before the European Parliament elections in 2009 BEFORE we have a chance to elect eurosceptic MEP's to put a stop to it.

For we know, Europe is our common future. The EU is our common enemy

The Wonko Declaration

Traitor Bliar is going to Berlin to sign the Berlin Declaration.

By signing the declaration he will commit us to the principle of a European Constitution, political union with EU member states and will declare that “we, the citizens of the European Union, have united for the better”.

I am not a citizen of the European Union, I do not want anything to do with Federal Europe and I most definitely do not agree that Europe has united for the better.  To that effect, I have written my own declaration – the Wonko Declaration:

We, the citizens of England, renounce any form of European citizenship.

We refuse to credit the European Union with the period of relative peace that has prevaled in Europe since the end of World War 2.

We pledge to resist the endless march towards “ever closer union” that is a core objective of the EU.

We will not accept regional government or any other form of regionalisation.

We will use ony the pound as our currency.

We will continue to use imperial measurements in defiance of the EU’s compulsory metrication programme.

We will continue to send eurosceptic MEP’s to the European Parliament.

We will continue to treat laws eminating from the EU with the contempt with which it deserves.

We, the citizens of England, are not – and will never be – “Europeans”.

Please leave a comment to “sign” the Wonko Declaration.

The lights are on …

The latest dictat to be issued by our masters on the continent is that we must stop using normal light bulbs and start buying expensive energy-saving bulbs instead.

We’ve got a mixture at home and I’m afraid I don’t like the energy-saving bulbs.  For a start they cost a damn sight more than normal light bulbs and while they do last a lot longer than normal bulbs, I have a 5 bedroom house and that means a lot of light bulbs!  It wouldn’t be so bad if they were as good as normal light bulbs but they’re not.  Energy-saving bulbs are dimmer than normal light bulbs and they start off even dimmer until they “warm up”.  We’ve got a pair of uplighters on one wall of the living room – one of them has a normal candle bulb in and the other has an energy-saving bulb.  The energy-saving bulb comes on about a second after the normal bulb and it’s not as bright.  It also stucks up about 4 inches about the uplighter whereas the normal bulb sticks up about an inch above the light but that’s what it’s supposed to look like.  Of course, you can buy energy-saving candle light bulbs but they’re at least a fiver plus post and packing.

This is all part of the obsession with being “green” or, as Channel 4 put it, the “great global warming swindle”.  The truth of the matter is, forcing people to use energy-saving light bulbs isn’t going to save the world from global warming for the simple fact that it’s not happening!  The average temperature of the earth has been decreasing since the 1940’s according to the met office and the receding polar ice caps that are supposedly “proof” that global warming is happening are nowhere near the state they were in a thousand years ago when the Arctic circle was north of Greenland.  The data shown in Channel 4’s documentary, the Great Global Warming Swindle, demonstrates a clear link between the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the temperature of the earth but – and this is the key thing that there so-call experts neglect to mention – the temperature of the earth goes up first and the amount of CO2 rises to co-incide with the temperature increase some 100 years later.

How can a pint conform to EU standards?

The European Federation has instructed the British government to abolish the crown mark that currently certifies a legal pint glass and replace it with a CE mark.

The CE mark stands for Conformite Europeenne and certifies that the item in question confirms to EU standards.  This raises an interesting question – how can a pint conform to an EU standard when the only measurements Federal Europe allows is metric?  Could this be a sneaky way of replacing the pint with the litre in our pubs?  Change the law so that you can’t serve a drink in a glass that doesn’t have a CE mark and then refuse to issue CE marks for non-metric glasses – if I wanted to force metrication on England that’s what I’d do.

Former UKIPer joins EU far-right group

The European Parliament has a strange system of political groups in place of political parties.

The EPP is probably the best known of these groups in England, being the eurofederalist right wing group that David Cameron pledged to withdraw from when he became leader of the Conservatives but didn’t much to the annoyance of the majority eurosceptic party membership.

The European Parliament rules on creating new groups are that there must be a minimum 19 MEP’s from 5 different countries to form the group.  Under these rules, a new far-right group has been created including the French National Front, Austrian Freedom Party, Vlaams Belang, Greater Romania Party, National Union Attack (Bulgarian), Alternativa Sociale (Italian), Fiamma Tricolore (Italy) and Ashley Mote MEP.

The French National Front needs no explanation, nor should National Union Attack.  Vlaams Belang are Flemish nationalists – the Belgian equivalent of Plaid Cymru.  Alternativa Sociale and Fiamma Tricolore are Italian Facists.  The Austrian Freedom Party are neo-Nazi’s and the Greater Romania Party are a xenophobic, homophobic, anti-semetic party.

Ashley Mote is a former UKIP MEP who was booted out after being charged with housing benefit fraud.

EU Serf: Why the EU is unreformable

EU Serf has an article on why the EU is unreformable.

The main crux of the argument is that the European Federation is political, will do whatever it can to perpetuate its own existence and that, in a nutshell, they want something that we don’t.

Can’t argue with it really.  The main problem with the concept of the European Federation is that popular and enduring unions are between parties that have something in common.  Eastern Europe is different to Western Europe.  Northern Europe is different to Southern Europe.  The UK is all on its own being different to the rest of the continent.  Half of Europe uses Napoleonic Law, the other half doesn’t.  The UK has a legal system that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the continent.  Eastern Europe is poor, Western Europe is relatively wealthy.  Northern Europe has a different work ethic to Southern Europe.  But most importantly, there is no single European identity that binds the member states of the federation together.  The USA is equally as diverse as Europe but they have a national identity to bind the states together.  The European Federation doesn’t have this, nor will it ever have one – there’s too much history, too many disagreements and too much diversity.

It’s getting a bit full in Brussels

With the ascension at midnight of Bulgaria and Romania, the European Federation buildings in Brussels must be getting a bit full.

Maybe it’s time we helped them out and vacated some office space.  All we need to do is repeal the European Communities Act and they can have the UK’s offices.

Membership of the European Federation is going to be more expensive than ever now that England is required to subsidise another two bankrupt eastern European states and the European Federation wants to impose direct taxation on citizens.

£510 EU income tax

According to the Daily Express, the European Federation has drawn up plans to finance itself with a £510 direct tax á-la income tax.

The plans have been drawn up by eurofederalist MEP’s rom the Committee on Regional Development.

The direct tax will be in addition to reduced national contributions and will supposedly reflect the relative prosperity of each member state.  The report also says that rebates are “manifestly no longer justified” so, as the European Federation’s most prosperous member state and the second highest contributor to the European Federation’s budget despite having a 33% budget, I think we can safely say that this would cost us a serious amount of money.

English Parliament – lovely, isn’t it?

Lord Elis-Thomas, presiding officer of the Welsh Assembly, has called for the establishment of an English Parliament.

This is the latest in a line of increasingly high profile supporters of devolution for England.

Don’t get too excited though – Lord Elis-Thomas’ vision of the UK is a “United Kingdom in a United Europe”.  Which would make him one of the minority of people in the UK who want to preserve the union and one of the even tinier minority who are interested in being part of a United Europe.

Predictably, the story isn’t anywhere on the England pages on the BBC News website but it did make it to the British politics page which is an inprovement over the usual policy of burying anything to do with an English Parliament somewhere English people won’t look for it.

EU has airlines in its sights

The European Federation is planning to include airlines in its carbon trading scheme to help fulfil its obligations under the Kyoto Treaty.

First question – why does the European Federation have any obligations under the Kyoto Treaty?  It’s not a country and I believe most member states signed the treaty and have their own obligations so why does the European Federation need to get involved?

Second question – why is carbon bad for the environment?  I’ve already asked the question but nobody seems to know.

Third question – as an island we rely on air travel more than those on the continent so when our airlines exceed what will undoubtedly be unachievable targets set by the European Federation so they can get more money, what is going to happen to our airlines?  Since 9/11, airlines the world over have been struggling to survive and hammering them with punitive charges under the banner of “green taxes” is going to put them out of business or put up charges meaning that it is the citizens of member states that will end up paying this new tax, not the airlines.

Looks like Labour are going to have to find another “benefit” of membership of the European Federation because “green taxes” are going to price free movement between member states out of the range of ordinary people.

Shropshire Star: EU not to blame for NHS woes

EU not to blame for NHS woes

According to certain readers the EU is to blame for the failures in the NHS.Stuart Parr (Starmail, November 20) claims it has issued a directive removing the individual opt-out from the Working Time Directive, hereby forcing hospitals to cut services.

This is not true. The EU cannot just issue a directive and “dictate” it is observed. It can only propose directives for agreement. There is no such agreement on revision to the Working Time Directive, and the individual opt-out therefore remains in place.

R Knight (November 17) says the merger of the PRH and RSH is because the EU has insisted such services are regionalised. This is further nonsense. The EU has no such powers, and no such purpose.

Philip Bushill-Matthews MEP

Firstly, I was told by the person who wrote the proposals for the cuts to paediatric services at the PRH that they had to downgrade the service because the EU had removed the opt-out clause for medical staff in the Working Time Directives. Who would you believe? A eurofederalist MEP or a manager at the hospital?

Secondly, the EU dictates many laws and the British government is unable to veto a large number of them. In fact, the day this appeared in the Shropshire Star (Wednesday) I received an email regarding the EU removing the derogation on British pleasure boats using red diesel from January 2007. The British government cannot veto this decision. The British government is currently trying to convince the EU that forcing British motorists to use their lights at all times will endanger more motorcyclists than it saves motorists and is therefore a bad idea. They have to convince the EU now because they are unable to veto the directive.

Thirdly, the EU issues all funding through regional structures.  It also dictates that regional government must be put in place in all member states.  The regionalisation of the NHS is simply an extension of the general regionalisation forced on us by the EU.

Aren’t the Tories supposed to be eurosceptic?

No justice for English firm

English curd cheese producer, Bowland Dairies, has been put out of business by the European Federation.

The European Commission’s Food and Vetinary Office (FVO) issued an alert saying that the curd cheese broke their rules on antibiotic residues and was therefore unsafe.  The British Food Standards Agency (FSA) inspected the premises, found that the FVO’s report was wrong and that the products were, in fact, entirely safe.

The FVO again claimed that the curd cheese was unsafe and the FSA responded that the FVO seemed to be confused about what type of milk was being used and that the product was completely safe.  The FVO appended its own comments to the FSA’s report saying that the product was unsafe.

Bowland Dairies took the FVO to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) who concluded that, based on the legal and scientific evidence, the product was safe and the FVO were wrong to try and ban it.  The FVO tried to append its own negative comments to the ruling saying it had only lost on a technicality.  The judge refused and FVO were ordered to withdraw their claim that the product was unsafe.

The FVO again spent 2 days inspecting Bowland Dairies but couldn’t find anything wrong.  Despite this, the European Commission asked its Standing Committee on the Food Chain to approve a ban on Bowland’s product.  Of the 25 members of the committee, 22 of them approved the ban whilst the UK abstained.  The committee was not given access to the ECJ’s judgement or the scientific evidence proving that the FVO was wrong in its assessment.  The only “evidence” provided was a defence of the antibiotic residue test by the company that invented it.

Even though Bowland have done nothing wrong and the European Commission has broken an ECJ court order, the British Department of Health has rushed through statutory instrument Curd Cheese (Restriction on Placing on the Market) Regulations 2006 which has immediate effect and says “No person shall place on the market any curd cheese manufactured by Bowland Dairy Products Limited”.

Yet again, it’s one rule for us and one for them.  An English company has merely tried to go about its lawful business yet the European Commission has contrived to illegally put this company out of business with a complicit British government helping them to do so.

And here was me thinking it was our fish

The European Federation is pushing for a further 25% reduction on fishing for cod and smaller reductions for plaice, sole and hake.

The proposal will be put before unelected EU fisheries ministers some time this month and no matter what they decide, the British government will be powerless to veto the decision.

And here was me thinking it was our fish.

Finland ratifies EU constitution

Finland has become the latest European Federation member state to ratify the EU constitution.

Like almost every other member state that has ratified the constitution, the decision was made by career politicians and not by the people of that country.  A public referendum was held a few months ago in France and the Netherlands, both founding members of the European Federation and historically European federalists.

The constitution would give the European Federation, with all its corrupt, unelected eurocrats, the stepping stone they need to create a true European Federation which – despite their best efforts to deny this is the case – is what has been intended for the EU since its conception as the European Coal Board.  The document written by the founding father of what is now the EU proposing its creating actually says that it is “the first step towards a federal Europe”.

EU to get involved in Litvinenko case

The North British English Home Secretary, John Reid, is to discuss the case of radiation posining that killed Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko at the European Council.

He says that it will be an opportunity to exchange information with colleagues that might help the investigation.  That’s all well and good but what other involvement will they have?  The European Federation is already trying to get its grubby mits on national law and justice and this isn’t a normal thing to do.  Has the Federation told the Home Secertary and his counterparts in other member states to refer high profile cases to the European Council or is this part of the traitor’s multi-million pound “sell the EU” project?

The EU is good, the EU is great …

surrender your will as of this date.

Traitor Blair has got so fed up with euroscepticism that he’s planning on spending millions of pounds of taxpayers money telling us how fabulous the European Federation is.

Actually, that’s not strictly true.  What he’s doing is banning references to EU directives, the European Commission, Brussels, Strasbourg and CAP and bigging up things like the Eurovision Song Contest, UEFA and Blue Flag beaches – none of which are anything to do with the EU but which apparently give the general public a nice warm fuzzy feeling about Europe.

That’s the theory anyway, the reality is different.

Euroscepticism is on the increase.  The EU and British government are so desperate for any glimmer of positive thoughts about the European Federation that they are reduced to pathetically claiming that people support the European Federation if they tell a federation pollster that they would like more information on how the European Federation works.  I’d like to know more about how it works as well but I’m a eurosceptic.  Sad isn’t it?

Under these new plans our taxes will be spent on a senior press officer for each Whitehall department to concentrate solely on pushing out pro-EU propaganda.  The idea was cooked up by Howell James, a friend of EU Commissioner Peter Mandelson.  James is paid £180k of our taxes to come up with propaganda for the British government.

This is a sad, sad, pathetic attempt to try and sell a corrupt and unwanted federal superstate.  Next to nobody in this country would piss on the European Federation if it was on fire.  Membership of the EU costs us around £52bn every year – that’s £873 for every man, woman and child in the UK.  That’s the financial cost taking into account all the “benefits” of being in the European Federations such as … oh, giving us some of our money back to build roads and … ah yes, being able to work in Poland for a sack of potatoes a week and all the turnip wine you can drink.  The non-financial cost in terms of the European Federation’s determined efforts to wipe our country off the map, undermining the sovereignty of our democratically (well, sort of) elected government and damaging our relations with the rest of the world is inestimable.  Even the Queen is an ordinary citizen under EU law for gods sake!  How long will it be before an enterprising German police officer turns up at Buckingham Palace with some trumped up EU arrest warrant for crimes against the German nation during the war and demands the Queen be extradited?  Ok, it’s unlikely but it could happen.

The SNP are predicted win the North British elections next year and with a win will come the end of the union.  The fact that it will coincide with the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union and the 50th anniversary of the European Federation (if the UK doesn’t exist then England won’t be in the European Federation either) will make it even more meaningful.

Gordon Brown told the Scots yesterday that they didn’t want independence and neither did the English yet this is the latest poll to prove that is a downright lie.  The Welsh Assembly was established on the back of a 51% yes vote in which only 50% of the country participated.  If this is claimed as the settled will of the Welsh people then how many more polls like this is it going to take to force the Scottish Raj to hold a referendum in England?

When the union is dissolved, Labour will pay for it’s anglophobia.  The SNP have taken Labour’s majority in North Britain and the Conservatives have long been the choice of English voters with Labour relying on a combination of votes from north of the border and gerrymandered electoral boundaries to win the last election.  The Conservatives will lose their beloved union because of their unwillingness to support equality for the English.  The Illiberal Democrats are nothing and without their combined vote in England, North Britain and West Britain they will soon disappear off the political radar.

Cruisin’ for a Boozin’

The European Federation has ruled against a Dutch wine club which tried to get a ruling that they didn’t have to pay duty on fags and booze being imported from another EU member state.

The ruling will disappoint smokers and drinkers alike who woud have been able to order their cigarettes and alcohol at booze cruise prices without having to leave their armchair.  To make up for the lost duty, the British government would have had to put up taxes on other things, spreading the tax burdon around the majority of the population rather than just targetted at smokers and drinkers.

All is not lost for the eurofederalists though – new draft legislation will, if passed, reverse the decision of the European Court of Injustice giving the European Federation the authority to overrule elected national governments when it comes to taxation.
